Oh man! I can’t believe this is the LAST day of Warped Tour! Getting off the bus this morning and setting up our tent was one of the most bittersweet events I’ve come across all year. Our groundhog’s day of setting up, playing a show, breaking down, and doing it all over again is finally coming to an end. It seemed like only yesterday that we all started this tour and now we’re hours away from the fact that we won’t be seeing each other’s faces all at once tomorrow. There are a whole lot of mixed emotions out here… but in the end of the day I think most of can say that we’ve all had a summer that we’ll never forget.
The 800 or so people out here on the road have once again grown into one big family. Sure, at times it may have been a very dysfunctional one, but we’ve all created some sort of bond on this tour that I’m pretty sure that we’ll be missing in a few weeks time. We may be hating the hot and humid summer weather and 16-hour days now, but sometime in everybody’s down time we’re going to look back on this summer and remember something great.
We’ve seen some of the great shows of bands we may never have listened to before, made tons of new friends, and got to hang out with folks just like you! Things like being on the road for 8 weeks and not being able to shower after a playing a dustbowl happen to be all worth it when you think about all the fun stuff we got to do and especially when you get to see some of your new friends sometime in the near future!
All in all, it’s been a great summer. Happy Sweet Sixteen to Warped Tour and many more!
This may be one of my last personal posts, but I’m not done with you guys yet! I’ll have a few more videos up here for you before everyone here get’s back to school including a few more acoustic performances at The Soul Lounge and little something from all the bands out here.
To everyone that kept up with this blog, from the bottom of my heart thank you! It’s been a pleasure!
Steve

Every so often I like to show you guys how much planning actually goes into Warped Tour. This week we’re taking a look at Kerry Nicholson, the Production Manager and Site Coordinator out here.
Each and every year Warped Tour travels to over 40 different cities across the United States and Canada and somehow manages to create a functional concert out of pure chaos. Hundreds of moving vehicles, tents, stages, and people all come together to create a rock show that we’ve all grown to love over the past 16 years. Sure, there’s booking bands, selling merch, and tour managing, but what many people don’t realize is how much planning actually goes into the littlest things here on the road.
Ever wonder how the flow of Warped Tour seems to just work? Going from stage to stage, taking a break in the sponsorship area, and then getting all your favorite merch items in one place? Ever stop to realize how in the world the stages are so close to one another and yet they don’t interfere with each other’s sound? It’s no coincidence that things run as smoothly as they do and we’ve got Kerry Nicholson, the production manager and site coordinator at Warped Tour, to thank for that. He’s one critical part of the team that makes this concert the well-oiled machine that it is today.
Read on to see what exactly it is that the Warped Production Manager does and how you can one day be in his shoes!

natzone asked: Hey Steve! I worked out on Warped for a few days, and stopped by the tent where kids can donate money to paint on a blank canvas. It is a non-profit tent to raise money for schools that had to cut art out of their budget. I was wondering what the name of this organization is, and more information you might have. Thanks!
Hey there!!! Those guys are AWESOME!!! They represent an organization called The CANVAS Foundation and are here at Warped promoting art and creativity! They do a whole bunch of cool things… I’ll be doing a piece on them super soon!
In the mean time you can check out their website at www.thecanvasfoundation.org for more info!
